Eddie Gray- the famous jazz violinist-was so close to the painter Francis Bacon that the artist relied to him all the keys of his properties when he was far from Great Britain. Colony Room ,the real home of Francis Bacon, was so selective that to be a member they use to say you should be a billionaire, a royal highess, or a genius.
I suppouse is meaningful of my relationship with the inner circle if the painter that Eddie Gray gave me the longest interview of his life on the artist (after seeing the drawings the artist gave me was so shocked to have an asthmatic crisis )and the Colony Room liked I made a video of a party in my honour after the owner at that time Michael Wojas saw the drawings, an honoure never given for what I know to anyone else.
The video begins with the official photographer of Colony Room -the also remarkable poet Alyson Hunter- (but we are at French Bar one of the favorite drinking place of the painter ) than we have the interview to Eddie Gray and than the party in Colony Room.
All this disappeared and symbols of unbridled vitality have become ghosts of memory but the one whose references were important,Francis Bacon, will always feed the life of art and never become a ghost of it.
